Your Book Operations Centre — Manuscript to Market
Definitive Book Guide operates as your dedicated editorial and publishing partner. We don't offer a one-size-fits-all package. Instead, each project enters our pipeline at the stage it actually needs, moves through only the services that matter, and exits ready for readers. Use this dashboard to explore our service tracks, check availability, and submit your project for assessment.

Pipeline Performance
Common Questions from Authors
- Do you work with first-time authors?
- Absolutely. A significant portion of our clients are writing their first book. We adjust our approach to your experience level and provide extra structural guidance where needed.
- Can I hire you for just one service, or must I use the full pipeline?
- Each service track operates independently. You can enter at any point and use only what your project requires. There's no obligation to proceed through every stage.
- What genres do you handle?
- We work across literary fiction, commercial fiction, memoir, narrative non-fiction, business books, and select academic writing. We do not currently handle poetry, screenplays, or children's picture books.
- How do you determine pricing?
- Pricing depends on manuscript length, service track, and complexity. After your initial submission, we provide a detailed quote within three working days. No hidden fees.
- Do you offer virtual consultations?
- Yes. All coaching sessions and strategy consultations are available via video call. Manuscript editing is handled remotely with tracked changes and detailed commentary.
Editorial Approach
We don't believe in gentle, non-committal feedback. When you submit your manuscript, you receive a thorough, honest assessment that identifies genuine strengths alongside structural weaknesses. Our editors have backgrounds in traditional publishing, literary agencies, and academic writing programmes.
Every edit comes with explanation. We don't just change your words — we show you why, teach you the principle, and help you apply it independently. The goal is not dependence on our services but growth in your craft.
Our developmental editors have collectively guided over seventy novels to completion. Our copy editors maintain style-sheet precision that catches inconsistencies most readers would feel but never identify. And our publishing strategists have navigated the Irish, UK, and international markets for over a decade.
